English version for overseas friends:

@Versac has opened twitter account @tdf09.

A large number of 'official media outlets' have not understood that they had to have a presence on Twitter during Le Tour. French TV audience will regret the treatment inflicted by "la pravda France 2". One can regret that there is no twitter @radiotour, and above all that Jean-Louis Le Touzet or Libération are missing in action on le tour.

So, in order to coordinate a non-professional, convivial here is an "unofficial" Tour twitter account.

However, it will need support and a few more hands on deck to run it... Those who are interested can contact @Versac. A few guidelines / rules:

- To be a bike lover;

- To be passionate and wanting to talk about it ;

- To be frustrated by the official coverage by L’équipe and France 2 (read 'official media').

No specific or imposed editorial line on this twitter. Commentaries are welcome, as opposed to pure facts and news. In fact analysis to understand what is going on in order to relay 'news articles' would be good. It will be bilingual, français and English, le Tour is an international event (a large part of the twitersphere communicates in english).

Thinking of a small team of 10ish people. Send me an email: subject tdf09 to versac@gmail.com. Our strength will come from the numbers.

Finally let's press to get hashtag #tdf09 adopted for this Tour!
